TMK took part in Earth Hour
OREANDA-NEWS. Оn 25 March 2017, TMK, one of the world’s leading producers of tubular products for the oil and gas industry, took part in Earth Hour, the world’s largest environmental event, for the first time. All TMK’s key divisions and facilities in Russia, the US, Europe and the Middle East were involved in the event. They switched off the external lighting at their office buildings along with other energy consuming systems not involved in production.
Earth Hour is a global event during which the WWF invites everyone to switch off the lights for one hour as a sign that they care about the future of our planet. The event is a symbol of care for the nature, and every year it helps to highlight the need to take responsibility for the world around us.
Participation in Earth Hour is one of the key events as part of TMK’s Year of the Environment programme. In addition to large-scale environmental projects included in the federal programme, we plan a number of region-specific green events and initiatives to improve the environment in the regions where TMK’s facilities operate. Along with arrangements to involve the Company’s workforce in these initiatives, TMK will also run events at its offices and administrative departments of its plants involving relevant staff.
