OREANDA-NEWS  President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti.

Petro Poroshenko thanked for the constant support of the EBRD in the introduction of reforms in Ukraine and expressed hope for the enhancement of relations.

“We highly appreciate the active role of the EBRD in the introduction of projects in the public sector, particularly in the energy and transport, as well as the investment in the private and banking sectors,” the Head of State noted. The Head of State urged the EBRD to use the opportunities of cooperation with local authorities more actively, as they have received additional financial powers due to the decentralization.

The President of Ukraine praised the activity of the EBRD in the administration of the Chernobyl Shelter Fund and the Nuclear Safety Account.
