Minister Dacic congratulated the new UN Secretary-General on his appointment
OREANDA-NEWS. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a telephone conversation with the newly appointed UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who will take office on 1 January 2017.
Minister Dacic congratulated Guterres once again on his appointment, wishing him success in the discharge of his responsible duties as Secretary-General of the United Nations, the organization which has made a historic contribution to establishing and safeguarding world peace.
Dacic underlined that Serbia was committed to peace, stability and confidence-building in the region, anticipating continuation of UNMIK mission in Kosovo and Metohija, without any changes as to its size and mandate.
