Meeting with Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China Cao Jianming
OREANDA-NEWS Belarus and China are eager to step up joint efforts in crime prevention, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Cao Jianming, Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on 10 April.
“We are going to step up our cooperation in crime prevention, the coordination of these activities. I think that it is also necessary and useful for the People’s Republic of China,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President remarked that the countries have established very close relations not only at the level of the heads of state but also at the level of various agencies. “This also pertains to the cooperation of our prosecutors general. Our prosecution bodies maintain very good relations,” the Belarusian head of state said. “Taking into account similar positions and tasks addressed by the Belarusian and Chinese prosecution bodies, the cooperation with you is very important for us since you have very rich and versatile experience. You have accumulated colossal experience.”
“Today there are many types of international crimes. We maintain close cooperation with you, regularly exchange experience and visits. Obviously, there are positive and negative facts. If truth be told, there are violations. Therefore, we must fight against these phenomena together,” the President stressed. “Organized crime and corruption have more intricate forms. These phenomena mutate, if we can say so. And our prosecutors general, prosecution bodies coordinate the activities in all fields, including the abovementioned ones.”
Cao Jianming, in turn, thanked Alexander Lukashenko for the meeting. “We are very grateful for this warm and hospitable welcome in Belarus,” he said.
According to Cao Jianming, during the visit the prosecution bodies of Belarus and China agreed to deepen interagency cooperation, including for the development and expansion of trustworthy and all-round strategic partnership between the two states.
