Ivica Toncev and Olga Ravasi discuss the importance of Serbian diaspora in the US
OREANDA-NEWS State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Toncev received today Prof Dr Olga Ravasi, Special Advisor to the Office of the Secretary General of the InterPort Police on Foreign Policy and Security in the Balkans.
Ms. Olga Ravasi informed the State Secretary about the activities of the InterPort Police and the prospects for cooperation between this association and the Republic of Serbia. The importance of Serbia in the context of the global efforts in combating terrorism and organized crime was underlined.
Considering that Prof Dr Ravasi belonged to the Serbian diaspora in the United States of America, the interlocutors discussed the importance and role of the Serbian immigrants in the US as well as prospects for a more intensive cooperation between the motherland and the emigration.
Special attention was devoted to prospects for strengthening mechanisms for cooperation with US administration officials, and also to the support of the Serbian diaspora aimed at reinforcing the ties between the two countries.
