China Hopes for ‘Further Progress’ at BRICS Summit
OREANDA-NEWS. China hopes for further progress in strengthening cooperation at the upcoming BRICS summit, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong said.
“China is sure that the BRICS summit in Goa will help consolidate past achievements and achieve new progress,” Li told a briefing. According to the official, Beijing hopes for progress in in deepening cooperation, as well as improving the quality of it.
The BRICS summit that brings together heads of state of Brazil, China, India, Russia and South Africa is due to be held on October 15-16 in Goa.
BRICS is an association of five developing economies which comprise over one third of the world’s population. The five nations have a combined nominal GDP equivalent to approximately 20 percent of world gross product.
