Armenian Foreign Minister received the Assistant United States Trade Representative
OREANDA-NEWS On September 12, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the high level US foreign trade delegation headed by Ed (Edward) Gresser, the Assistant United States Trade Representative for Trade Policy and Economics.
Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian highlighted with satisfaction that this is the second US foreign trade delegation visiting Armenia during the last two months and expressed confidence that such visits will contribute to the further deepening of the Armenia-United States trade and economic relations.
Edward Nalbandian and Ed Gresser exchanged views on bilateral trade issues, the opportunities provided to Armenia under the GSP preferential trade regime and the terms of its full utiliziation.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the preparations of the second session of the Armenia-US Trade and Investment Council, as well as possible directions of expanding the volume of bilateral trade. Within this context Foreign Minister Nalbandian commended the cooperation between Armenia and the United States in the field of information technologies, underlining that it occupies a significant place in the bilateral trade turnover.
The interlocutors also touched upon the issues related to the Armenia - United States cooperation in the field of infrastructures and energy, emphasizing the importance of expanding the legal framework.
