15 Cases of Zika Virus Infection have been Recorded in India

OREANDA-NEWS Kerala state officials in India have announced 15 new cases of Zika virus infection. Symptoms include headache, rash, fever, joint pain, and weakness. The disease is not fatal, mainly transmitted through mosquitoes, and in rare cases, sexually. It was first opened in 1947. According to some reports, the Zika virus is associated with a decrease in brain size in newborns and the development of Guillain-Barré syndrome.
All 15 cases are medical professionals. The first patient was a 24-year-old pregnant girl who was admitted to hospital with characteristic symptoms.
Now workers have been sent for checks in settlements to observe areas of a possible outbreak.
Meanwhile, the Indian-made vaccine showed 93.4 percent effectiveness, while more than 400 thousand people in this country became victims of COVID-19.
