OREANDA-NEWS Designers from the Netherlands presented the project of a double-tail airliner, which has a V-shape.
The novelty has no wings, and their role is played by widely spread tail elements. The aircraft will take off due to two turboprop power units that are installed in the rear of the aircraft. Cargo and fuel will also be transported in the tail section, and passengers - in the "head" of transport.
The developers are sure that their new product will reduce the overall drag and as a result, the fuel consumption will be reduced by 20% with the same performance. The project was called Flying V, and will be tested in the fall, but the exact date of the first flight is unknown.
