OREANDA-NEWS. Uber will challenge the decision of the British state organization Transport for London (TfL), which refused on Monday to renew its license to work in London. This was stated by the head of the regional office of Uber in Northern and Eastern Europe, Jamie Heywood.
“TfL’s decision not to renew the Uber license is extraordinary and erroneous. We will appeal”, Haywood News Agency quoted him as saying. The reason for the decision was made by the regulator, who is responsible for the operation of most of the capital's public transport, called Uber a number of "violations that threatened the safety and life of passengers". TfL emphasized that Uber couldn't eliminate all the shortcomings to which it was indicated earlier.
Uber has 21 days to appeal, otherwise she will have to stop working in London. The previously issued license expires on November 25, but the company says it will "continue to operate normally". Uber drivers will still be able to transport people around London for the duration of the appeal.
