OREANDA-NEWS Online taxi service Uber Russia has launched in 104 new cities of Russia, almost doubling the number of cities where it works. This is stated in the Uber message.

"Today, Uber Russia began to operate in 104 cities of Russia. In total, if we consider small towns with a population of about 50 thousand people, Uber Russia is available in more than 250 cities of Russia - from Kaliningrad in the West to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the East," the report says.

Among the new cities in which the service has earned - Abakan, Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Essentuki, Ivanovo, Yoshkar-Ola, Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Syzran, Ulan-Ude, Yakutsk, Yaroslavl and so on. In all the cities startup Uber operates Russia "Yandex.Taxi", explained in the company Uber Russia.

Uber has launched a separate application for online taxi ordering for Russian users of Uber Russia on December 21 last year. It was developed taking into account the wishes of users and features of the Russian market. Thus, users have the opportunity to write a comment to the order, add intermediate addresses on the trip, pay for the order using Apple Pay and Google Pay and leave a tip to the driver.

Investments in the development of the product in Uber were not disclosed, while the company reported plans to invest more than 2 billion rubles in the development of Uber Russia in 2019.

"Yandex.Taxi " and Uber in February 2018 combined online taxi services in Russia. In the joint business, which is valued at more than $3.8 billion, the company has already invested $325 million under the terms of the transaction, about 59.3% in the joint company owned by Yandex, 36.9% - Uber, another 3.8% - employees.

Will the prices in the applications differ? It will be possible to find out only experimentally. Like Yandex.Taxi, you can pay for the trip to Uber not only in cash, but also by credit card (and even Apple Pay and Google Pay) — in this case, the money will be written off at the end of the trip.
