OREANDA-NEWS. Singapore port authorities filed a lawsuit for confiscation of the Russian ship Sevastopol (owned by the Hudson company, which fell under US sanctions in 2018) because of debts estimated at 1.3 million Singapore dollars, or 61 million rubles, the Russian media reported Hudson’s deputy director Valery Uliskin on Friday.

The Sevastopol ship arrived in Singapore on February 26, 2019 with a cargo. Singapore customs decided to inspect the containers, and she had questions to the owners of the cargo that had not been connected for a very long time. The vessel was forced to stand in the port, port charges were imposed, and at one point, the port agent presented the company with a claim of 1.3 million Singapore dollars, or about 61 million rubles. We can't pay this amount now, and the agent’s lawyers went to court, they want to sell the vessel for debts", the source said.

According to him, during the downtime, the Sevastopol team changed several times, now there are 12 Russian sailors on board. A court hearing on the sale of the vessel for debts is scheduled for December 17.
