OREANDA-NEWS  Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev at a meeting of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission proposed that China participate in the development of the Northern Sea Route and the construction of a merchant fleet.

The 5th meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Chinese commission for cooperation and development of the Far East and the Baikal region of the Russian Federation and the Northeast of the People's Republic of China is being held in Vladivostok on Tuesday under the joint chairmanship of Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Guoqing and Trutnev.

"We invite you to work together in the development and arrangement of the NSR, the construction of a merchant fleet and ship insurance," Trutnev said at the meeting.
