OREANDA-NEWS Japanese automaker Toyota was the first manufacturer to resume direct deliveries of spare parts for warranty repair and maintenance to Russia. This is what Izvestia writes about.
It is noted that we are talking about details that do not fall under the sanctions list. It also turned out that the Russian daughter of Toyota Motor allowed its dealers to import spare parts in parallel, the supply of which was impossible due to restrictions, for example, electronics.
Toyota Motor demonstrated customs declarations confirming the independent import of spare parts. The company clarified that the name of the parts and their quantity change depending on the situation with each specific delivery. A key obstacle to the resumption of full-fledged supplies is a serious disruption of logistics chains.
Toyota announced its decision to close the plant in the village of Shushary in St. Petersburg, which has been operating in the country for 15 years, at the end of September 2022. The automaker stated that it would dismiss all employees of the Russian company.
Later, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov spoke about the future fate of the Toyota plant. Most likely, cars will be produced on it, which ones are still unknown.
