OREANDA-NEWS Toyota has developed active safety technology that can hedge drivers who confuse gas and brake pedals. The new power suppression function will not allow to accelerate sharply if it recognizes a pedestrian or a cyclist in front. A protective system will be available as an option and is recommended for older drivers over 70 years old. 

A new active safety assistant is expected to appear on production cars later this year. First of all, Prius and Aqua hybrids, the most popular among the age audience, will be equipped with additional protection. 

However, at the request of the owner, the function can be installed on any already purchased modern car. The starting price of the system is less than 50 thousand yen (about 31 thousand rubles).
