OREANDA-NEWS The number of "penalty" cameras with artificial intelligence (AI) will grow dramatically in Russia. The fact that fines for parking, non-removed garbage and trade in the wrong places may become more, Izvestia reports.
According to the developer of AI systems Softlogic, in 2023, state and municipal institutions began to order such cameras 2.5 times more often than in 2022. At that time, less than a hundred smart video surveillance systems were purchased, while in 2023 the number of purchases increased to 239. At the same time, the volume of contracts increased sixfold — from 256.1 million to 1.5 billion rubles.
Experts attribute the growing popularity of AI solutions to their high efficiency. "The completeness and accuracy of fixing violations, coupled with geolocation and identification of specific violators, allows you to issue prescriptions and impose fines automatically, bringing millions of rubles to local budgets. In large cities, complexes pay off in just a couple of weeks, in small ones — in a couple of months." — Denis Loginov, co-owner of Softlogic, explained.
Earlier, Russians were warned about fines for throwing construction debris into a public tank.
