OREANDA-NEWS. The United States authorities have decided to lift the ban on flights of American civil aviation in certain areas of the flight information area of Simferopol, according to an official notification of the Federal aviation administration (FAA) of the United States, published in the Federal register.
"This amendment does not extend the ban on performing certain flight operations in certain zones of the Simferopol flight information area due to changes in conditions in the airspace and the associated reduction in the level of danger to US civil aviation," TASS quotes the text of the notification.
At the same time, the Washington administration extended the ban on flights to the flight information areas of Dnipro (formerly Dnepropetrovsk) until October 27, 2021. The US authorities explained their decision by maintaining the potential "danger to civil aviation" in connection with the ongoing conflict in Eastern Ukraine.
Flight information area – an air space of a certain size, within which flight information services and emergency notification are provided. The ban, introduced in 2014 for security reasons, expires on October 27.
