This was stated by the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Dmitry Yadrov, reports TASS.

He explained that cars with American Pratt & Whitney engines are difficult to maintain and repair, which operators around the world complain about. After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the manufacturer interrupted cooperation with Russian companies, and now the carrier will have to withdraw some number of airliners from flights.

Yadrov promised that in August-September there will be a more accurate understanding of what the final figure will be by the end of the year for civil transportation. During the first five months, there was an increase of eight percent, to 40.5 million people. Last year, Russian airlines carried 105 million passengers, 10 percent more than a year earlier.

At the end of June, it became known that the Federal Air Transport Agency had stopped publishing data on the number of aircraft from Russian carriers. The department explained the decision "by the need to optimize the published information" and noted that some airlines post information on their resources. S7 became the only one of the five largest national airlines that refused to disclose this information.
