OREANDA-NEWS The recycling fee for cars and trailers increased by 70-85% as part of the first stage of the long-term indexation scale, while from January 1, 2025, the fee will increase by 10-20%.
However, when calculating the amount of scrap collection for vehicles imported into Russia before October 1 of this year, the previous coefficients will apply if importers have submitted documents to the customs authorities no later than October 15 of this year.
It is expected that such a measure will not affect the cost of Russian-made cars. In addition, regarding the import of machinery, the changes do not apply to preferential coefficients for individuals who themselves import a car with an engine capacity of up to 3 liters to Russia for personal use.
The recycling fee is a tax for manufacturers and importers. They are obliged to pay it for every vehicle produced or imported into Russia. The purpose of such a tax is to ensure the subsequent disposal of the vehicle after the end of its service life.
