OREANDA-NEWS The hard landing of the Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) aircraft in Antalya, Turkey, occurred due to an unpredictable wind shear. The cause of the incident was disclosed by Azimut Airlines following a preliminary internal investigation.

Representatives of the carrier noted that the aircraft was moving according to the established landing parameters, however, an unpredictable wind shift occurred during landing. At the same time, the crew managed to keep the liner on the runway.

The statement also says that after the SSJ-100 stopped on the runway, the flight attendants saw smoke outside and reported this to the commander of the aircraft, who decided to evacuate passengers and crew members. It is clarified that the jet fuel spilled out of the deformed tank ignited, but the liner itself did not burn.

Azimuth said that the evacuation was carried out through the front right door under the control of the crew. None of the passengers were injured.

"The commander of the ship and the crew were the last to leave the plane. The passengers' hand luggage and luggage were not damaged and were given to the passengers afterwards. The airline delivered the passengers who were delayed at the airport terminal to their places of stay," the airline added.

Earlier, Rostec linked incidents with the SSJ-100 to human or external factors. The state corporation noted that they are not inferior in reliability to liners of a similar class of foreign production.
