OREANDA-NEWS As of the beginning of July 2024, there were a total of 50.6 thousand electric vehicles in Russia. This is reported by Autostat with reference to its own statistical data.

Despite the increase in the number of cars, the share of such vehicles accounts for only 0.11 percent of the total number of passenger cars registered in the country. Electric vehicles of the Japanese brand Nissan have the largest representation in Russia — slightly more than 30 percent, or 15.5 thousand units.

The Chinese Zeekr is in second place in the ranking (16 percent, 8.1 thousand units). The top three were rounded out by the American Tesla brand, owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk. As of the beginning of July, there were 6.4 thousand units of such electric cars in the country. The German Volkswagen (3.3 thousand units) and the Russian Evolute (2.9 thousand) also entered the top 5.

Earlier, the agency "Autostat" reported an increase in the demand of Russians for used electric vehicles. According to the results of the first half of 2024, sales of such types of vehicles in the country increased by 10 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and reached the level of 5,164 units. At the same time, almost 60 percent of sales were made by Nissan and Tesla brands.
