The Number of Electric Vehicles in Moscow is Growing by 10-15% Per Year
OREANDA-NEWS. Almost 2,000 electric vehicles are registered in Moscow, and their number is growing by 10-15% per year, said the deputy mayor of the capital for transport, Maxim Liksutov, in an interview with Reuters.
It is necessary to develop infrastructure to increase the number of electric vehicles in Moscow.
In this regard, they intend to install 200 electric charging stations in the capital annually. By 2023, up to 600 such stations will operate in Moscow, Liksutov explained.
Meanwhile, public transport in Moscow will be switched to environmentally friendly fuel.
In the next four years, the capital's public transport park will receive 2.7 thousand electric buses, Liksutov concluded.
A line of domestic electric vehicles will be created in Russia, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said earlier.
In 2021, sales of electric vehicles in Russia increased 6 times compared to last year. This is just the beginning, analysts say. According to experts' forecasts, with the joint efforts of the state and business, in the next five years, the number of electric cars may increase to a million.
There is definitely no need to worry about the lack of energy for electric cars in the next 5-10 years. This means that the issue of developing eco-transport is not a matter of the power grid, but rather a matter of expanding the network of charging stations.
