OREANDA-NEWS  The proposal to ban driving for people over the age of 70 has not been worked out, the age of a person does not in itself affect the ability to safely drive a car, Russian Assistant Minister of Health Alexei Kuznetsov told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the media reported that members of the Veterans of Russia movement appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a proposal to ban people over 70 from driving a car.

"The proposal does not look worked out - a person can drive a car if his health condition allows him to do it safely for himself and other road users, a special medical commission evaluates this condition, all requirements are clearly regulated," Kuznetsov said.

He clarified that the age of a person does not apply to such criteria and does not in itself affect the ability to drive safely.
