OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova called London's reaction to the situation with the British destroyer "a lie to the face".

On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the British destroyer Defender had crossed the Russian border and entered Russian waters three kilometers into the waters near Cape Fiolent (Crimea). After that, the Russian border patrol ship performed warning fire, and the Su-24M aircraft carried out warning bombing along the path of the destroyer

"There are video frames, there is factual confirmation ... not only from our side, but also from the British journalist," Zakharova said on the Russia 24 TV channel.

“It’s not all the British intelligence services to expose the Air Force under attack. They already do this very often. And here they found themselves in an awkward situation for themselves. When the British Ministry of Defense and the British Embassy in Moscow said that during their supposedly peaceful call there were no incidents, no warning salvo from the Russian aviation - apparently, they also did not see the coast guard boat, and the British journalist saw and heard all this, respectively, the answer is obvious: lies in the face here. We often fix and catch our western partners by the hand, colleagues, unfortunately, London has become a leader in this, "the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman concluded.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the situation with the British destroyer, said that a comprehensive response would be given to such impudent calls and unceremonious provocations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry will declare a tough demarche to the British Ambassador in connection with the situation with the British destroyer.

According to Zakharova, this meeting, "I can say for sure, it will be unpleasant for the British side."
