OREANDA-NEWS The European Union (EU) intends to impose new sanctions against Iran, which will affect the aviation sector. This became known from a statement by the head of the European Diplomacy of the association, Josep Borrel, published on the official website of the EU Foreign Policy department.

"The European Union will respond promptly and in coordination with international partners, including through the introduction of new restrictive measures against Iran," the document says.

It is specified that restrictions will be imposed on individuals and organizations involved in Iran's ballistic missile and drone programs. In addition, restrictive measures in the Iranian aviation sector are also being considered.

Earlier, Iran promised to give a proportionate response to the statement by the United Kingdom, France and Germany about its intention to impose sanctions on it because of the alleged supply of ballistic missiles to Russia. Tehran called this step by the three European countries a continuation of the hostile policy of the West and economic terrorism against the people of Iran.
