OREANDA-NEWS. According to Kommersant, citing data from Bank of America (BofA), taxi prices have increased significantly in Russia.

According to analysts, in December 2020, taxi rides from the largest online aggregators Yandex.Taxi and Citymobil rose by 50-70 percent.

The data of the Moscow Department of Transport, which the publication also refers to, also indicates an increase in travel prices. So, according to the department, in the first quarter of 2020, the average check for a trip in the capital was 417 rubles, in the second - 430 rubles, and in the third - 457 rubles.

According to experts, the main reason for the rise in prices for taxi services is associated with the recovery of the market. The number of trips in December increased compared to May-June, when most employees worked remotely. For the analysis, BofA compared the mean values at different times on four days of the week in some largest Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Ufa, Voronezh and Yaroslavl.

Other factors also influencing the increase in the number of taxi rides, analysts also point to seasonality. According to experts, the demand for the service always increases towards the end of the year.
