The average size of a car loan has changed in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS Compared with May 2024, in June, the average size of a car loan in Russia increased by four percent, or to 1.47 million rubles. This is reported by the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI).
If compared with the same period in 2023, the average check for this type of loan increased by 5.3 percent.
The largest loans for the purchase of a car are issued in Moscow — 1.95 million, and St. Petersburg - 1.7 million rubles. In the Moscow and Leningrad regions, the average loan size was 1.71 and 1.64 million rubles, respectively. In Khanty-Mansiysk JSC, the figure reached 1.56 million rubles.
The strongest rise in the price of car loans in the first month of summer was recorded in the Samara region — plus 10.8 percent. In the Stavropol Territory, the average check increased by 8.1 percent, in the Saratov region — by 7.6 percent. Of the 30 regions, only in the Omsk region the average car loan decreased (minus 2.1 percent).
In mid-June, it was reported that in Russia the recommended income of a borrower repaying a car loan should be almost 117 thousand rubles. Over the year, the amount required to service this type of loan increased by almost 15 percent.
At the end of last year, it became known that since the beginning of 2023, residents of Russia have received loans for the purchase of a car for more than 1.4 trillion rubles. The volume of loans issued doubled the statistics of 2022 and exceeded the data for 2021 by 27 percent.
