Tens of thousands of Skoda and Volkswagen cars will be recalled in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS The Russian automobile group AGR (AGR LLC) will recall 55.6 thousand Volkswagen and Skoda cars in Russia. This is reported by Interfax with reference to Rosstandart.
We are talking about 31.7 thousand Skoda Rapid cars, as well as 23.9 thousand Volkswagen Polo cars sold in 2014-2023, the agency said. The long-term vehicle monitoring program has revealed that prolonged operation of vehicles at idle and in extreme cold conditions can lead to an accumulation of electrostatic charge on the surface of fuel lines, the agency explained. In exceptional cases, the result may be the destruction of the fuel pipeline material, they added.
A fuel filter grounding cable will be installed on all vehicles that will be recalled. In total, the work will take no more than half an hour.
Earlier it became known that Avtozavod Saint Petersburg will recall almost two thousand Xcite brand crossovers. It was clarified that we are talking about Xcite X-Cross 7 cars, produced since the beginning of November 2023. 1.1 thousand cars were suspected to have defects in the operation of the ERA-GLONASS emergency call module, and 708 crossovers could have a speed sensor that did not work correctly.
