OREANDA-NEWS The domestic SJ-100 aircraft, an import-substitution version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100, made its first flight with a Russian PD-8 engine in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Rostec publishes the video on its Telegram channel.
It is known that the plane was in the air for about 40 minutes, reached a speed of 500 kilometers per hour and an altitude of up to 3,000 meters. The flight mission has been completed in full. Rostec summarized that PD-8 showed stable performance.
The head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, noted that the project is being implemented in a very short time by the standards of the global aircraft industry. In April, another fully Russian aircraft with PD-8 engines will join the certification flight tests. At the same time, it is planned to transfer two more PD-8 prototype engines for flight testing by the end of March.
