SpaceX Launched Rocket Falcon 9 with 57 Satellites
OREANDA-NEWS. The rocket Falcon 9 of the American company SpaceX with the 10th group of microsatellites Starlink was launched from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral (Florida, USA).
The launch took place at 01:12 Eastern time (06:12 UTC). Together with 57 satellites Starlink, 2 satellites BlackSky are being put into orbit. Approximately 9 minutes after launch, the first stage of the launch vehicle was landed on the platform Of Course I Still Love You in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Starlink network is designed to provide Internet access to users around the planet by deploying a large number of small vehicles (weighing up to 500 kilograms) on near-Earth orbit. Initially, SpaceX plans to bring high-speed Internet access to residents of the southern part of the USA by the end of 2020. The company's representatives estimate that placing 11 thousand satellites in orbit and putting them into operation will cost about 10 billion dollars.
