OREANDA-NEWS Sales of Lada Vesta cars with an automatic transmission will begin on March 11, and their shipments to dealers are already underway, AvtoVAZ reported.

AvtoVAZ announces the start of shipments to dealers of Lada Vesta cars equipped with an updated 1.8 EVO engine and an automatic transmission (CVT)," the message says.

"The new powertrain is installed on all models of the family, the recommended retail price of Lada Vesta with 1.8 EVO AT starts from 1,588,900 rubles (Comfort sedan). Sales of Lada Vesta with automatic transmission will begin on March 11," AvtoVAZ stressed.

According to Maxim Sokolov, president of the company, today it is the most affordable car with an automatic transmission in Russia.

Production of the Lada Vesta with an automatic transmission and an updated engine began at the end of February. This engine was designed specifically for the Vesta with an "automatic". For the assembly of the 1.8 EVO motor at AvtoVAZ, there is a separate line with automatic quality control.

AvtoVAZ owns production sites in Tolyatti and Izhevsk. In mid-May 2022, French Renault transferred its share in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to the state ownership of the Russian Federation. Now the brand consists of four model families: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva. Sales of Lada cars in 2023 amounted to 352.6 thousand units (an increase of almost two times in annual terms).
