OREANDA-NEWS Sales of AvtoVAZ in the Russian Federation in August increased by 1.8 times in annual terms and by 13.4% by July of this year - up to 33.3 thousand Lada cars, the company said in a statement.

In January-August, the automaker's sales also show positive dynamics - an increase of 2 times, up to 206,321 cars compared to the same period last year.

"According to the results of August 2023, official Lada dealers in Russia sold 33,325 commercial and passenger cars of the brand, which is not only the best result in 2023, but also a new absolute maximum since July 2021," AvtoVAZ noted. Earlier, the company reported that 18,087 Lada cars were sold in August 2022, 29,378 in July of this year. "In just 8 months, 206,321 Lada cars were sold in the Russian Federation, which is 2 times higher than the same indicator in 2022, and 9% more than for the entire calendar year 2022 a year," the press service of the automaker added.

Sales of the leader of the Russian car market Lada Granta amounted to 16,785 units (+44.9% in annual terms). Lada Vesta - 6,657 cars, Niva Legend - 4,057 cars, Niva Travel - 5,399 units.

AvtoVAZ continues to increase the pace of production and today confirms plans to produce more than 400 thousand cars by the end of 2023. Starting from September, Line No. 1 (Vesta) produces 40 cars per hour, Line No. 3 (NIVA) – 45, and Line No. 5 (Granta) – 54," the company stressed.
