OREANDA-NEWS  Following the results of the prosecutor's inspection of the enforcement of laws on the protection of the rights of consumers of aviation services, the court fined the airline Siberia (S7 Airlines) by 30 thousand rubles for repeated overbooking - refusal to transport passengers with tickets, the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office reported on Thursday.

"At the initiative of the Novosibirsk Transport Prosecutor's Office, Sibir Airlines has been brought to administrative responsibility for non-fulfillment of the terms of air transportation contracts," the message says.

The prosecutor's office explained that in July 2023, the airline illegally refused transportation to seven passengers who had purchased tickets for flights from Moscow to the cities of Chita and Ulan-Ude, due to exceeding the number of available seats on board the aircraft.

The Novosibirsk Transport Prosecutor's Office has checked the fulfillment of the requirements of the legislation on the protection of the rights of consumers of aviation services. As a result, at the initiative of the prosecutor, the airline was brought to administrative responsibility under part 2 of Article 14.4 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements of regulatory legal acts repeatedly), with a fine of 30 thousand rubles.
