OREANDA-NEWS  A Moscow court sentenced a teenager who stole a carsharing car to two years. 

He was found guilty under Article 166 ("Unlawful possession of a car without the purpose of theft (theft), causing particularly large damage") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, on August 11, 2024, a 16-year-old boy on Admiral Lazarev Street illegally entered a Nissan Qashqai car and started a car that belonged to a commercial organization. There were four other underage companions in the cabin with him. The teenager did not have a driver's license, but he drove through the streets of the city.

On Yuzhnobutovskaya Street, he was involved in a traffic accident, as a result of which one of his passengers suffered life-threatening injuries. The car cannot be restored. The convict fully admitted his guilt.

The court sentenced him to two years in prison to serve his sentence in an educational colony.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian was sentenced to almost 6.5 years for stealing a police car.
