OREANDA-NEWS Russian Railways (RZD) will open a representative office in Uzbekistan, the company said.

The decision was made after a meeting of the Russian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov, and Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov. The head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov also took part in the Russian-Uzbek negotiations.

"One of the main results of the cooperation was the resumption of running trains of the formation of Uzbek railways Tashkent - Moscow. The train will start running from September 24 once a week, and from December 15, after the introduction of a new schedule, twice a week," the Russian Railways recalled.

"In the near future, a representative office of Russian Railways will open in Uzbekistan," the message says.

Options for tourist train routes are also being jointly considered. In the segment of freight transportation, the launch of an accelerated refrigerated train "Agroexpress" is being worked out, the text of the message clarifies.

Russian Railways and Uzbek partners are working in a wide range of areas: joint implementation of international infrastructure projects, development of passenger transportation, expansion of logistics services, digitalization, educational programs and humanitarian cooperation.
