OREANDA-NEWS. Several more Russian airlines were able to obtain more than 80 permits for flights to Egyptian resorts from Rosaviation. This information is available in the order of the department.

Permits for flights from Russian cities to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh were given to the following Russian airlines: Izhavia, Nordstar, Red Wings, Azur air, Nordwind, Royal Flight, Ural Airlines.

It is reminded,air traffic between Russia and Egypt was suspended in 2015, in a result of a awful crash of a Russian airliner over the Sinai Peninsula, which killed 224 people. One of the terrorist organizations claimed responsibility for the disaster. In 2018, after strengthening security measures at the Cairo airport, Russia resumed flights to this city. 

Moscow and Cairo have reached a fundamental understanding on the issue of payments to the families of those killed in the Russian A321 plane crash over Sinai in 2015, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Russian side said, during the negotiations with the Egyptian side, constant communication was maintained with the associations of the relatives of the deceased passengers and crew members. As a result, the Russian embassy in Cairo managed to find an understanding with the Egyptian partners. Now they are working on specific details on the implementation of voluntary payments through the Federation of Tourism Chambers of Egypt.

In April of this year, the presidents of the Russian Federation and Egypt agreed to restore flights between Russian cities and resorts on the Red Sea, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Before that, the airports of Egyptian resorts were inspected by several delegations of Russian aviation security specialists. Russia has resumed flights with Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh from August 9.
