They had no transponders turned on, had no flight plans and had no two-way radio communication with the Estonian aviation service." , - the message says.
The department also reported that the Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned the Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Federation on Wednesday and handed him a note of protest.
On Tuesday, two Su-35 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, the aircraft did not deviate from the route, the Russian Defense Ministry's information and mass communications department said in a statement.
