OREANDA-NEWS  Russia has become the largest foreign market for Chinese cars. In terms of the number of new cars imported from China since the beginning of 2023, the Russian Federation is almost twice ahead of others to which deliveries are made. It is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the data of the customs authorities of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

According to the agency, from January to May, China exported 287 thousand new cars to Russia. This is a record figure — about 162 thousand cars were imported from China to Russia last year.

The second place in this indicator is occupied by Mexico, where 159 thousand cars have been exported from China since the beginning of the year. Belgium was in third place (120 thousand cars).

It is clarified that the leading positions in the export of cars to Russia are occupied by Chery Automobile, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and Great Wall Motor. This is confirmed by the sales results.

Earlier, Russians were described a portrait of an average Russian who purchased a new car of a Chinese brand. According to the analysis, this is a 35-40-year-old man living in an economically developed European part of Russia who took a car on credit.
