According to the newspaper, the leadership of the French automaker at a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov discussed the possibility of state support for the organization of production of electric vehicles in Russia.  No details about which model can be localized and at which plant can begin its assembly, did not tell.

 Currently, two electric models of the Renault brand are being supplied to the Russian market - these are Twizy and Kangoo Z.E.  Their cost is 949 thousand and 2.6 million rubles, respectively.

 “During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of differentiation of state support measures, mechanisms for compensating customs duties for SPIC members and optimization of export logistics subsidies.  In addition, mechanisms to support the production of electric vehicles in the Russian Federation were affected, ”the Ministry of Industry and Trade told.

 In the global market in 2018, 1.45 million electric vehicles and 550,000 rechargeable hybrids were sold.  Tesla leads, BYD ranks second, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance ranks third.
