OREANDA-NEWS. Groupe PSA intends to establish export of Opel brand cars from Russia, the relevant plans of the group are laid in the industrial strategy. This was in an interview with Russian media, said the vice president of the French automaker Groupe PSA (Peugeot Societe Anonyme), managing director of the brands Peugeot, Citroen and Opel in Russia Alexey Volodin.

“Our team unequivocally lays down export plans to develop its own industrial strategy, because without export plans it's impossible to recoup the investments that are required to be produced and sold in Russia. Therefore, of course, we are building our strategy based on, among other things, on export", he said. Volodin also said that PSA has plans to localize production in Russia, but now it's planned to finalize them taking into account the new concept of differentiation of industrial subsidies for scrap collection approved by the government of the Russian Federation.

“Given the new regulatory requirements for localization, I’m finding it difficult to say now. We must consider the economic feasibility of maintaining the level that was requested”, he said.
