OREANDA-NEWS. Russian cosmonauts have found a possible air leak in the module Zvezda of the International Space Station (ISS). This was reported by a member of the station’s crew, Anatoly Ivanishin, to the Mission Control Center (MCC) of the Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities of Russia; the talks were broadcast on the NASA website.

The cosmonaut clarified that it was possible to find the place of a possible leak with the help of a tea bag, the movement of which in weightlessness in the direction of the air leak was recorded by cameras. There are several photos and videos of the direction in which the tea bag flew or where it intended to fly, which shows in which direction the air is blowing, Ivanishin explained.

MCC suggested that the cosmonauts seal the alleged leak with sticky tape and asked them to send a photo and video of the hole.

In August, the ISS experienced a drop in pressure. After that, the Russian–American crew began work to search for the leak. According to Roscosmos, the leak is too small to threaten the life and health of the crew or somehow influence the flight of the ISS.
