OREANDA-NEWS. In Russia, in the coming years, it is planned to widen the distribution of subsidies and tax breaks for owners of environmentally friendly vehicles - electric cars, cars with small engines or running on gas.

As a representative of the ministry told Izvestia, the Ministry of Economic Development is working on the abolition or reduction of the transport tax at the federal level. This program will be sent for approval to the government by the end of the second quarter of 2021.

Now such a transport tax exemption in different amounts is valid in a number of Russian regions: at the rate of 50% it is valid for organizations and individual entrepreneurs in the Nizhny Novgorod region, for individuals - in Bashkortostan, in the Novosibirsk region for transport companies - 10% of the established rates. In Tatarstan, a state program for the development of the NGV fuel market has been approved with tax incentives and subsidies for NGV re-equipment. The Ministry of Economic Development proposes to provide subsidies to buyers of cars with an engine capacity of up to 1 liter.

Amendments to the Tax Code are being discussed for the complete abolition of the transport tax, which remains a regional tax - its size depends on the decision of local authorities, and tax collections go to local budgets.
