OREANDA-NEWS. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) of the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Lunar Orbital Station found on the surface of the Earth's satellite fragments of the Indian Vikram crashed in September 2019. Pictures of the crash site are published on the NASA website.
Green dots in the image indicate the debris of the device, blue - the recorded destruction of the lunar soil, which, most likely, was the result of the fall of Vikram. Image was taken by NASA on November 11th.
The first fragments of Vikram discovered are located approximately 750 m northwest of the main crash site. In late September, NASA published the first photographic plan from the Vikram crash site and asked to compare with earlier images of the same region and find the wreckage of the device. Later, a technician, Shangmug Subramanian, contacted LRO, who pointed to the wreckage. After receiving this information, the NASA team confirmed their authenticity. In the new photo, the place where the device fell was marked with the letter S.
