OREANDA-NEWS. Boeing Corporation inspects more than 400 aircraft of the 737 MAX model after foreign objects were found in the fuel tanks of several liners. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to sources aware of the audit, and the company's internal orders. According to the publication, fragments of tools and rags were found in the tanks, which could create a security risk during the operation of the aircraft.
Boeing’s vice president and 737 MAX program manager, Mark Jenks, has already told the company that the presence of foreign objects in the fuel tanks is “totally unacceptable”, says an agency that reviewed Yenks’s letter. The company will conduct additional inspections of the aircraft assembly process. According to the American media, foreign objects were found in ready-made, but not yet delivered to customers airliners.
Boeing suspended the production of the 737 MAX after two air crashes involving aircraft of this model: in October 2018, the liner crashed in Indonesia, in March 2019 - in Ethiopia. All those on board died, a total of 346 people.
