OREANDA-NEWS The Latvian authorities have decided to resume flights with third countries, including Russia.
According to the official statement, international passenger air transportation, including charter flights, will be allowed in Latvia from March 17.
It is noted that the Ministry of Transport of Latvia motivated the adoption of this decision by the fact that neighboring Estonia and Lithuania have already resumed air transportation with other countries, and residents of Latvia actually use them for transit to other states.
On March 17, 2020, Latvia banned international air travel, with the exception of European Union (EU) countries, due to the spread of the coronavirus. Before that, several flights flew from Moscow to Latvia and back every day.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Georgia said that the country's authorities have expanded the list of states whose citizens will be able to openly cross the border if certain conditions are met. So, from March 1, all citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia can freely arrive in the country by air. The condition for entering the country will be a negative test for COVID-19.
