OREANDA-NEWS AvtoVAZ has announced the release of a new family of Lada X-Cross cars. The cars will be produced at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. This was stated by the head of the concern Maxim Sokolov, reports TASS.
"Yes, X-Cross, we have already decided. That is why we are orienting our dealer community," the president of the company answered journalists' questions. At the meeting, Sokolov also announced that from May the concern will raise prices for Lada cars by an average of two percent and introduce marginal prices for the sale of Lada in the Russian dealer network.
The company plans to start producing cars under the Lada brand in May-June of this year. AvtoVAZ is actively increasing production after a significant decline last year and expects to produce more than 400 thousand cars this year.
Earlier, the Lada X-Cross 5 model was shown at the presentation. Experts note almost complete similarity with the Chinese FAW Bestune T77 crossover. The car will be produced at the plant in St. Petersburg by the method of large-node assembly in two versions, with a manual transmission and with a seven-speed "automatic".
