OREANDA-NEWS  Sales of Lada cars in Russia in July increased by 28% year-on-year to 37.6 thousand units, AvtoVAZ said in a statement.

"In total, the company sold 37,645 cars, of which Granta passenger cars – 19796 units, Vesta – 8419 units, Largus – 757 units, NIVA family – 7899 units, as well as 774 light commercial vehicles. The total sales result of July 2024 is 28% higher than the results of July 2023, but 5% lower than the previous month, which is within the framework of seasonal fluctuations in demand," the company reported on July sales.

At the same time, AvtoVAZ stressed that the sales plan for July amounted to 40.2 thousand Lada cars and was fulfilled by 94% due to ongoing changes in the structure of the Russian automotive market. The automaker pointed to a drop in sales of the most equipped versions of the Lada Vesta, "localization and restoration of comfort and safety options in which about 5 billion rubles were invested."

The trend, in particular, is due to the fact that 85% of Vesta sales in high trim levels were carried out using credit products, which have become much less affordable today, the company notes.
AvtoVAZ is also witnessing the ongoing price expansion of Chinese manufacturers, who, using a rich arsenal of national benefits and preferences, currently control about 90% of the Russian passenger car market in financial terms. Having the opportunity to compensate for discounts in Russia at the expense of profits on large-scale domestic and export markets, foreign brands continue to squeeze domestic manufacturers into the least marginal segments of cars with minimal equipment," the company stressed.
