Japanese Billionaire Announces Recruitment of Volunteers to Fly to the Moon
OREANDA-NEWS. Japanese businessman Yusaku Maezawa will be the first «SpaceX» space tourist. He announced a competition among those who want to become his fellow travelers. Not only Japanese people can take part in the competition.
«I am recruiting a team to participate in this mission. I need eight people from all over the world. 10-12 people will take part in this trip and I invite eight», he said on Twitter.
42-year-old Maezawa in 2018 bought all the seats on the ship, which will go to the Moon in 2023. He noted, that applicants for the flight must meet two criteria. They must tell what they are doing and how going to the Moon will help them to do something more for society. The second condition, the billionaire called the desire to work in a team and support other members.
Maezawa is the founder and head of the «Zozo» website, where you can order fashionable clothes made to individual standards. He is one of Japan's wealthiest citizens, with an estimated net worth of $3 billion.
