OREANDA-NEWS  The Association "Russian Car Dealers" (RoAD) proposed to create a special state corporation responsible for the development of the domestic automotive industry, under the conditional name "Rosavto". Alexey Podshchekoldin, president of the Road, told about this at a press conference, Vedomosti writes.

According to him, such a structure could plan the production of cars and components, develop new models and technologies, and distribute orders between enterprises. Personnel training should also be given to the level of the state corporation, along with issues of interaction between industry participants.

Poschekoldin referred to the example of the Ministry of Automotive Industry of the USSR, but added that in the current conditions, state corporations essentially have the same functions and powers, and it is more difficult to carry out changes in the government. A hypothetical Rosavto, in addition to other tasks, could engage in negotiations with foreign investors as a representative of the state, so that they would decide on the organization of production within the country.

The head of the ROAD recalled that the Ministry of Industry and Trade recognizes the lack of specialists to solve industry tasks, so one or another structure is still necessary. The organization intends to formalize the initiative by the end of the first quarter of the year.

Car dealers want to discuss the issue with the business organizations Opora Rossiya and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP). The first confirmed that they are ready to consider the initiative, especially since the appearance of a curator in the industry is long overdue. However, the chairman of the association's commission on automotive maintenance, Sergei Timofeev, noted that first you need to understand what exactly the ROAD means and whether their positions converge.
