OREANDA-NEWS Russian transport companies are exploring the possibility of establishing a "cooling-off period" for passengers, during which buyers will be able to cancel train and flight tickets without charging additional fees. This was reported by the newspaper Kommersant.

The initiative was developed by the Passengers' Union. The measure will allow Russians to correct errors in the data, date or direction of the trip within a few days or hours. The Ministry of Transport is currently exploring the possibility of introducing the initiative.

It is known that the share of passengers who make mistakes when buying reaches only two to three percent. At the same time, the introduction of a "cooling-off period" will not seriously affect the economy of carriers.

Earlier, a family of Russians from Blagoveshchensk lost their vacation in Thailand due to an error in the child's passport. They purchased three vouchers for 201 thousand rubles — the Russians planned to get to Khabarovsk by train, and from there fly to the resort country.
